High Density Polyethylene Resin

More commonly known as HDPE, this plastic resin has a lot of advantages and is one of the most widely used plastics. It protects against water contamination, has strong resistance to chemicals, features excellent impact strength, and can withstands temperatures as low as -100C. However, it also doesn’t offer good protection against oxygen and carbon dioxide.

Low Density Polyethylene Resin

LDPE offers toughness, transparency, and flexibility, and is also popularly used in applications where heat-sealing is involved. It has great resistance to acids and bases and can be found stored in many common household items. 

Polyethylene Terephthalate Resin

PET is a tough and clear plastic resin which has great moisture and gas barrier properties. It is commonly used for storing beverages due to its optically smooth surface. It also features shatter resistance and can withstand high impacts.

Polystyrene

Since PS is a tough and brittle type of resin, it has a low melting point and is great for protective packaging. It can serve as an excellent moisture barrier for products with shorter shelf lives and also offers great optical clarity. It also features good insulation properties which makes it the ideal choice for food containers.
